About Apex Chess

Mission

The mission of Apex Chess is to make chess education accessible and welcoming, while cultivating a chess community rooted in mentorship, encouragement, and collective improvement.

Vision

Our vision is to enrich the lives of Alaskans through increasing the play, study, and appreciation of the game of chess.

Service Location

Apex Chess conducts regular chess instruction at The Workshop located in South Anchorage at 1120 Huffman Road, Suite #11. 

After school chess club programs for the Anchorage area are in the works for the 2026 Fall Semester. 

One-on-One coaching is available for both online and in-person instruction, as long as there is instructor availability. 

Semester Dates

Fall Semester will tentatively be thirteen weeks long, starting in August and concluding in December.

Spring Semester will tentatively be thirteen weeks long, starting in January and concluding in April 2027.
